Q: How have you been handling the good amount of publicity about this trial that I guess is October 4th. How have you been handling this matter?
Rose: I have been handling it pretty good I think. I really haven’t been thinking about it. I have been thinking about the team more than anything. Like how I am going to gel with the team. Getting used to the players and just getting used to the organization, the GM, president Phil and Steve and all them but as far as like the trial, that is something I can’t think about.
Q: Phil characterized you as not overly concerned and not losing sleep over it, is that accurate, is there anything you want to clear up from what has been out there?
Rose: Right now I have a big year ahead of me as far as like the season that we have ahead of us and the team that I have, that is why I have them to handle this case where I feel like they are doing a good job, they are handling everything and they are giving me the time to focus on what I need to focus on and that is straight basketball.
Q: There were reports today that there is a criminal investigation about the LAPD. Has anyone spoken to you from the LAPD? And were you aware of it before today?
Rose: Nah. I haven’t talked to anyone and this is my first time hearing about it and once again I am not worried about it, I felt like I didn’t do anything wrong.
Q: Is there a possibility that this doesn’t end up going to trial in your mind … where it doesn’t end up going on 10/4 and you guys ends up settling prior is that an option in your mind?
Rose: All this legal term and all that, this is my first time ever being in the system and learning the system. So trial and all that, I hear about that, they tell me about it when I am in my meetings but my concern is playing well this year. I can’t think about a case I feel like I am innocent in, I feel like I didn’t do anything wrong like I said. I can’t let that distract me from the year I have ahead of me.
Q: Do you know if there have been discussions between the Knicks and any of your representatives before the trade happened?
Rose: None of that, I haven’t heard anything.
